PhD Position in Functional Complex Oxide Heterostructures

Culinary Scholarships Materials are oxides, mostly with perovskite structure. We are working with thin films and our goal is to study and control of new phenomena at the interface of complex oxide films and in multilayers. A recent example is the two-dimensional electron gas system which is done on the interface between two insulating oxides, LaAlO3 and SrTiO3. Heterostructures showed increased ion conduction and giant thermoelectric effects. Physics underlying this phenomenon are not fully understood.Culinary Scholarships complex phase diagram is governed by the interaction between, for example, costs, spin, strain, and doping, so that the very different nature of the oxide with the same crystal structure.

Project Details:

This Culinary Scholarships project addresses problems in the fabrication of functional complex oxide structures and will develop a basic understanding of their properties on the atomic scale. major challenge is to control the doping profile and void and to design a new interface with the desired properties. This Culinary Scholarships can activate a new device platform for the electronics and energy production and harvest. http://www.callforpapersinfo.com
